Météo-France / Centre d'Etudes de la Neige: Osiris stations cooperate with embedded systems that perform data processing and transmit snow avalanche detection messages over the METEOSAT satellite.

The photo illustrates the installation of the station on the slope. The system is powered by solar pannels. The complete system includes the seismometer, the Osiris station, a satellite transmitter and a rugged computer that performs signal processing and message transmission. A wireless connection allows maintenance tasks to be performed from the road on the opposite slope of the valley. Photos were kindly provided by Météo-France / Centre d'Etudes de la Neige.
