Mykerinos-Ti in SMPL
SMPL station switched to MykerinosThe broadband station of SamPolo (Corse) has been switched to Mykerinos-T. A Titan6 digitizer provides the data from a STS2 and a CMG5 to the Mykerinos-Ti logger. The data a transmitted to Géosciences Azur in Sophia Antipolis over a 64kbit/s ISDN connection. From there the real-time SeedLink data flow is available for the community
The upgrade of the SMPL station with Mykerinos-Ti provides a robust and low cost solution to bring real time data from the Titan digitizer. Also the installation and startup was very easy. The old PC was removed, the Mykerinos-Ti plugged and just worked.

The photo illustrates the installation of the station on the slope. The system is powered by solar pannels. The complete system includes the seismometer, the Osiris station, a satellite transmitter and a rugged computer that performs signal processing and message transmission. A wireless connection allows maintenance tasks to be performed from the road on the opposite slope of the valley. Photos were kindly provided by Météo-France / Centre d'Etudes de la Neige.
