Agecodagis seismological recorders

A small earthquake that occurred in Auvergne (central France) has been recorded by the french educational array. The closest station (ANZF, topmost seismogram on the image below) is located only 10km to the southwest.

The Omni server running at Agecodagis is available online: http://omni.agecodagis.com (user 'demo', password 'demo').
The Osiris Multiscale Network Infrastructure is a software designed to help users to manage pools of stations. Omni maintains configurations, check health state, alert the user in case of observed or previewed
fault, and also integrates a data manager. With Omni, a complex array can be used as a unique instrument!

The 'administration' mode helps the user to add/remove/suspend/resume the management of stations and the 'operation' mode gives the user a synthetic view of the health of the array while the smallest details of the stations life can still be analysed.

In the field, Omni automatically detects new stations and helps the user to integrate them in the already defined configurations. Omni also assists the user when installing the communication devices by
plotting connectivty map in real time.

Omni uses a regular html interface and is fully integrated in the Osiris dynamic routing system. Thus any device providing a web browser can be used to control the array: from the desktop PC to the PDA.

Omni can be installed on a regular desktop/laptop PC running linux and also runs in field PC provided by Agecodagis.

Since september 2007 the Kephren station replaces the Osiris data logger in the catalogue proposed by Agecodagis.

 Some reasons for the replacement of the Osiris data logger by the Kephren stations are:

• some components in Osiris have reached their end of life (in particular the main CPU)
• the external USB connectivity easily supersedes the PCMCIA slot of Osiris
• Kephren does not have the limitations that Osiris have at high sampling rates

As a member of the Osiris family, Kephren includes all the features of Osiris and more ! The same documentation applies (see http://agecodagis.free.fr/WebData/Pdf/Docs/Osiris), the same web interface is used, they are both fully OMNI-compatible, and the same connectors and pinouts are used for both data loggers.

Agecodagis will continue to support the Osiris data loggers in the following way:

• all the further software updates will include a build for Osiris
• the Osiris family documentation will be updated taking into account the Osiris data logger
• Agecodagis has replacement components for Osiris to ensure the complete after sale service until 2015

 
Also note that the Osiris dataloggers may be upgraded to Kephren.

The Kephren data logger operated by the ReNaSS in station LEPF is now connected to the Internet using both ADSL and VSAT links.

The Kephren data logger implements a static routing policy that sends the SeedLink traffic through the VSAT link and the FTP synchronization and maintenance traffic to the ADSL link.

The broadband station of SamPolo (Corse) has been switched to Mykerinos-T. A Titan6 digitizer provides the data from a STS2 and a CMG5 to the Mykerinos-Ti logger. The data a transmitted to Géosciences Azur in Sophia Antipolis over a 64kbit/s ISDN connection.

The SeedLink flow is used for real time transfer of the BH channels. The continuous data for HH, EN, BH and LH channels are also transferred by FTP to the data center in Titan2 format.
